Multiple Intelligence

Introduction

fluid intelligence an aspect of a person s iq allows people to solve ...

Once we were made to believed that being intelligent is being able to speak and write flawlessly in English or being able to solve complex problems in Math and the one's who can't is being labeled low IO and sometimes "stupid"-this was the traditional way.

But recent theories suggest that all of us is intelligent- only in 8 or more different ways.

The theory of multiple intelligences (MI) was developed by Howard Gardner, a professor of cognition and education at Harvard University. Introduced in his 1983 book, Frames of Mind, and refined in subsequent writings, the theory contends that human intelligence is not a single complex entity or a unified set of processes (the dominant view in the field of psychology). Instead, Gardner posits that there are several relatively autonomous intelligences, and that an individual's intellectual profile reflects a unique configuration of these intelligences.

Task

You will be in group of 5 members.

Your task will be wiriting a Reaction Paper about Multiple Intelligence answering the following questions;

1. To identify the different types of intelligence according to Gardner.

2. How each types of intelligence differ from one another?

3. What significant development does this theory implicates in terms of education?

4. Having knowledge on MI, what is your opinion and possible suggestion on the current state of educational system in our country? do you think steps done by other educational institution to make MI into consideration for education to be significant? Why?

Process

however i will share what we get taught about intelligence

1. Before we begin, ask youself:

         - What does it mean to be intelligent in our society?

         - What abilities do schools value and promote?

         - How do we measure a person's intelligence?

    take note of your answer.

Conclusion

At the end of our discussion about multiple intelligence, i hope that you have a broader view on how different wach and every individual especially student are, how we differ in mind setting. I hope you now have the ability to know different intelligence, thus, having realized that there are many ways to be "smart" you can support student and let them learn more. A sense of increased self-worth may be seen as students build on their strengths and work towards becoming an expert in certain areas. Students may develop strong problem solving skills that they can use real life situations.

I hope this can help you in your quest to become a good teacher, employing different strategies for the benefit of your learners. In this view, may you become a better teacher, learn more and earn much.
