MAPping our way to College!!!

Introduction

We have been discussing our future a bit in this class and we must now start to plan for what we want. In this webquest, you will identify which majors you are a match for you as well as identify admissions requirements for college. This information will help us to start planning and MAPping out our goals!!

Task

1. Identify Majors that correspond to interest and ppersonal strengths.

2. Choose one Major to research.

3. Identify at least 3 colleges/ universities that offer the major.

4. Choose one college to research.

5. Complete worksheets about both Major and college.

6. Create a PowerPoint that outlines the next steps for your future.

Process

1. Step 1-Go to http://quizfarm.com/quizzes/new/ohiojoshua/what-major-is-right-for-you/ and take the quiz.  The test will come back with  suggested majors based on your answers in their quiz. Record your results at the bottom of your My Majors Worksheet. Arrange them in order of the one you like least to the one you like best.  Answer questions on MyMajors SUmmary Sheet.

2. Go to My Colleges and search for your top major. Complete the College Information Sheet. You may need to google your college and what you are trying to find to get the answer.

3. Create a PowerPoint Presentation that highlights your future goals. Your PowerPoint should include the following:

A title Page

A slide that describes the major you chose and why

A slide that describes the college you chose and the requirements to attend that college.

A slide that describes at least 5 steps you will take to achieve your goal.

4. Save your presentation  in your google docs with your first and last name as well as your block. Please send to Mrs. Henley at tamaral.turner@cms.k12.nc.us
