Introduction
Hello, 5th grade students,
I heard you have been working hard on acing the TCAPs.
Though Mrs. Snapp is always bragging about how intelligent her class is, I'm not sure you are clever enough to work your way through this webquest.
So, I'm issuing you a challenge. Complete these challenges by yourself or with no more than a couple of friends, and I'll leave some of my treasure with Mrs. Snapp for you! The webquest must be finished before Spring Break. Good Luck.
Task
READY??
There are four challenges each in a different content area. The first three challenges may be done in any order, but the fourth challenge must be completed last.
You must give Mrs. Snapp the answers to these questions to receive your challenges.
1. Log onto Discovery Education and find the audio recording: Forms of Poetry: Limerick. Then tell Mrs. Snapp why the tiger was smiling. She will then give you your first challenge.
2. Go to this website:
http://www.leprechaunmuseum.ie/folklore-and-mythology/otherworld/leprechauns/
Read the article. Then draw a picture and label the details that answer the questions on the web page. Explain the picture to Mrs. Snapp and you will receive your challenge.
3. Go Discovery Education:
Find the video:The Language of Science: Life Science 3-5: Plants. Then watch the section - parts of plants. Then take what you learn and draw and label a shamrock (clover) plant. Explain your drawing to Mrs. Snapp and you will receive your challenge.
4. Go to this website:
Write a summary of the video - Take the summary to Mrs. Snapp.
Evaluation
If you have completed all the challenges and if you wrote a worthy summary, Mrs. Snapp was telling the truth, and you are intelligent young laddies and lasses. As I'm a leprechaun of my word, you have earned a wee bit of my treasure!
Have a GREAT SPRING BREAK!
