Introduction
Have you ever felt overwhelmed before an exam, struggled to balance school and personal life, or worried about your future? Stress is a normal part of life, but how we respond to it can affect our mental and physical well-being. In this WebQuest, you will become a "psychology investigator" and explore what stress is, how it affects people, and what healthy coping strategies can help manage it. By the end of this activity, you will create a guide that can help other students handle stress in healthy ways.
Task
Your task is to work individually or in groups to create a Stress Management Guide in the form of a digital infographic, brochure, Canva presentation, or Google Slides presentation.
Your guide should include:
- What stress is
- Common causes of stress among students
- Physical, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral signs of stress
- At least five healthy coping strategies
- Two myths and facts about stress
- A short reflection explaining which coping strategy you would personally use and why
Process
Step 1: Learn about Stress
Visit the recommended websites and answer these questions:
- What is stress?
- What causes stress?
- What happens to the body during stress?
Step 2: Identify Symptoms
Research the common signs of stress and organize them into four categories:
- Physical
- Emotional
- Cognitive
- Behavioral
Step 3: Explore Healthy Coping Strategies
Find at least five healthy ways to manage stress.
Examples include:
- Exercise
- Time management
- Deep breathing
- Meditation
- Talking with trusted people
- Healthy sleep habits
Explain why each strategy is effective.
Step 4: Create Your Guide
Using Canva, Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, or another design tool, create your Stress Management Guide.

I created this WebQuest because I wanted students to realize that stress is something everyone experiences, especially during their teenage years. Instead of simply reading about stress from a textbook, I wanted them to explore reliable online resources, think critically about the information they find, and apply it to real-life situations. My goal is for students to understand that stress is not always negative and that there are healthy ways to cope with it.
As the teacher, my role is to guide students throughout the activity rather than simply provide all the answers. I encourage discussions, answer questions when needed, and help students evaluate whether the information they find online is reliable. I also want students to collaborate, share ideas, and learn from one another while creating their Stress Management Guide.
I hope that after completing this WebQuest, students will not only gain knowledge about stress but also become more aware of their own mental well-being. More importantly, I hope they will develop healthy coping strategies that they can use in school and in their everyday lives.
