Do all animals eat the same thing, live in the same place, and need the same things to survive? Lets begin this journey to learn about ecosystems and what we need to survive. This will engage children to learn in an interactive and fun way. Together we will play games and research the lifestyles and habitats animals have and need.
Task
- What do the animals eat?
- Where do they live?
- How do they depend on the plants and other animals around them?
- What would happen to these animals if their main food source no longer existed?
- Can you descirbe the difference of a mammal, fish, bird, reptile, and amphibian?
Goals:
Students will learn what the four basic habitat components are for animals to live are food, water, cover, and space.
Students will divide animals into five distinct groups: mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.
Students will be able to give examples for each distict group the type of food, water, cover and space needed.
Students will summarize the basic needs of a variety of different animals (including air, water, and food) for energy and growth.(1.L.2.2 Essential Standards)
