Rainforest Rangers - Saving the Lungs of the Earth

Introduction

Welcome Rainforest Rangers! The Amazon, Congo, and even our own rainforests in the Philippines are disappearing fast. These "Lungs of the Earth" produce oxygen and are home to millions of species. As scientists, your mission is to investigate why rainforests are in danger and create a plan to save them. The future of our planet depends on you!

Task

In groups, you will create a Digital Campaign Kit to spread awareness about rainforest conservation. Your kit must include:
Infographic - What is a rainforest biome and why is it important?
2-minute Advocacy Video - 3 threats to rainforests + 3 solutions
Action Plan - 1 thing your school can do to help protect rainforests

Process

Explore: Learn about the characteristics, plants, animals, and climate of rainforest biomes.

Investigate: Research 3 major threats to rainforests in the world and in the Philippines.

Collaborate: Discuss with your group and choose the best 3 solutions.

Create: Design infographic in Canva + Record advocacy video using your phone.

Present: Upload your Digital Campaign Kit and present to the class.
