Introduction
The Florida Everglades is one of the most unique and special ecosystems in the world. Being extremely fragile, the Everglades faces threats every day, such as pollution, habitat loss, invasive species, and climate change. In assigned groups, you will present oral presentations on specific threats the Everglades faces and why these elements affect the ecosystem.

Guided questions
-What is the Florida Everglades?
-How do invasive species affect the native plants and animals?
-How does pollution/humans affect the Everglades ecosystem?
-How does climate change affect the Everglades ecosystem?

Students will be able to identify why and how anilams and plants respond to daily threats the Everglades faces.
Task
Studnets and I will go through a presentation as a class. Presentation will highlight guided questions and information needed for their presentations. Studnets will be put into groups with assigned questions. Utilizing brainpop and asigned youtube videos students will individually watch assigned group videos. After videos are watched, students will do their assigned role in group to create a 2 minute oral presentation about their assigned question.
Process
Step 1- Students and the teacher go through the presentation (provided by the teacher) and the chapter lesson as a class.
Step 2- The teacher will separate kids into 4 groups of 4, assigning a specific question and roles.
Step 3- Students will individually watch all assigned videos according to their group question from BrainPOP and YouTube, along with completing questions on BrainPOP.
Step 4- Group roles:
Student 1- captain: ensures the group is working efficiently while also helping Student 4 with the organization of the PowerPoint
Students 2 and 3- researchers: research and write down information about group questions to put in PowerPoint.
Student 4- organizer: organize and customize PowerPoint.
step 5- Students will work in their groups under their assigned roles to create a 3-slide PowerPoint presentation to orally present to the class. presentation will be 3 slides.
-Slide one will be the title page with group names and group question.
- Slide two: Every group will have the same question, "What is the Everglades?" The group is to provide 2 facts about the Everglades and what it is.
-Slide three will answer the group-assigned question with three facts.
Step 6- Students will write information from other groups in their journal.
Step 7- Students will play Kahoot provided by the teacher about the Everglades and its threats the class learned about in each presentation.
Students will use asynchronous tools like Kahoot and Google Slides to create engaging presentations for the class.
Evaluation
Presentations will be graded on acuracy of the information provided, correct spelling throughout the entire powerpoint, group worked well iwthin their roles and worked togther, the understanding of each the threats the Everglades faces, and speakers spoke acurately and corectly communicated information from powerpoint to the class. each section will be with the same amount of points from 1-5. 1 meaning no student did anywork and 5 menaing students did exceptionally well for each category.
Conclusion
Students will learn about the ecosystem of the Everglades and the threats it faces every day. Students throughout the process will also learn ways to protect the Everglades through informational videos and presentations. Students will also learn to work well in a group to get an assignment done. Enrichment activity link below
