Protecting Our Environment from Pollution

Introduction

Ever see trash by the roadside, or plastic bottles in a river? How about the grey plumes spewing from car exhausts and factory chimneys? That's pollution right there. Pollution happens when yucky stuff gets dumped in our environment, damaging the air we breathe, the water we drink, and all living things.

In Jamaica and worldwide, pollution has gotten way out of hand. It makes life rough, ruins nature, and puts our resources at risk. As an Environmental Protection Officer, you'd look into these issues, spread awareness, and find ways to safeguard the planet for the next generation.

 

Task

You have been appointed as an Environmental Protection Officer by your local community.

Your task is to research pollution and create an environmental awareness campaign in the form of a poster, brochure or powerPoint presentation

 

Your project must:

Define pollution.

Explain three types of pollution: Air Pollution, Water Pollution and Land Pollution.

Identify the causes of each type of pollution.

Explain the effects of pollution on people, animals, and the environment.

Recommend at least five ways pollution can be reduced.

Create a slogan encouraging environmental responsibility.
