Climate Guardians: Understanding and Acting on Climate Change

Introduction

The Earth is changing—and not always for the better. Rising temperatures, stronger typhoons, flooding, droughts, and other extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, especially in the Philippines.

In this WebQuest, you will become part of a team called “Climate Guardians.” Your mission is to investigate climate change, understand its causes and effects, and design real solutions that your school or community can apply.

By the end of this activity, you will not only understand climate change—you will also help raise awareness and take action.

Task

Your group will create a Climate Action Campaign Kit that will help raise awareness about climate change.

Your final output must include:

1. A poster or infographic explaining climate change

2. A 1–2 minute video or short presentation

3. A list of 5 practical actions that your school or community can do to help fight climate change

Your work will be presented to your class as a campaign for environmental awareness.

Process

Step 1: Form Your Group

Work in groups of 3–5 members

Step 2: Research Climate Change

Answer the following guide questions:

1. What is climate change?

2. What causes it?

3. What are its effects globally and in the Philippines?

4. Why should people act now?

Take notes and summarize in your own words.
