Introduction

Welcome to the Healthy Living discussion in WebQuest! in this activity students will be discussing topics about Proper Nutrition, Exercise and Physical Activities, Personal Hygiene, Healthy Lifestyle Habits and the Importance of Sleep and Water.This lesson is designed to help students integrate the following values (Self-discipline,responsibility,cleanliness and cooperation).

 

 

Task

In this webQuest, students will be doing the following activities:

  • Watch short education videos - Students will search videos from youtube that focuses on healthy living.
  • Create a healthy meal plan - Students will create their own healthy meal plan depending on their preference.
  • Poster making activity about hygiene - This will test students creativity as well. They will based the poster they will create from what they saw in the educational video they have watched.
  • Daily exercise demonstration - Each student will need to demonstrate a simple daily exercise that will make them healthy.
  • Group discussion about healthy habits - The students will be grouped accordingly and discuss what they have learned about the importance of applying healthy habits in their daily lives.

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  1. Identify healthy and unhealthy habits.
  2. Explain the importance of proper nutrition and exercise.
  3. Demonstrate ways to maintain personal hygiene.
  4. Create a simple healthy daily routine.
Process

Kindly follow the following Steps:

Step 1: Watch this short educational video - This is one the sample video about healthy habits that students can watch but they can choose other videos in youtube with the teachers permission and validation if the video is related to healthy habits.

Step 2: Since healthy habit includes eating healthy, students will be tasked to create a sample healthy meal plan for themselves. Students will be given enough time for this activity.



Step 3: After finishing the meal plan, students will then discuss it in front of the whole class and the rest of the students are free to ask questions and clarification.

Step 4: When all the students have already completed discussing their meal plans, they will now proceed to the next activity which is to create a poster about healthy habits based from the video they have watched.



Step 5: All posters created will be hanged in the dedicated corner in the room and each student will have to vote which poster is best except their own poster. This activity will be evaluated for the day by both teacher and students.



Step 6: Students will prepare a sample exercise but teacher will only select 5 students to lead the exercise. This will ensure that every student will have an exercise in mind.



Step 7: Last task/activity is for each and every student to discuss and share their take aways about healthy habits.

Visual Appearance Poster is colorful, organized, and visually appealing. Poster is neat and mostly organized. Poster is somewhat neat but lacks organization. Poster is messy and difficult to understand.
Use of Images and Illustrations Images strongly support the message and are well used. Images support the message adequately. Some images are unrelated or unclear. Images are missing or do not support the topic.
Neatness & Effort Work is very neat and shows excellent effort. Work is neat and shows good effort. Work shows some effort but needs improvement. Work appears rushed and untidy.

Scoring Guide

  • 18–20 = Outstanding
  • 14–17 = Very Good
  • 10–13 = Satisfactory
  • 5–9 = Needs Improvement
Conclusion

After completing this WebQuest, you should now understand that self-discipline  is very important in instilling the healthy habits in our daily lives. That being responsible plays a big role in consistency and being clean and cooperative is one of the important factor in living a healthy habit. Healthy living doesn't exist for nothing since this will be very helpful in this chaotic world full of pollution and undisciplined people. This activity helps you connect with nature and yourself.
