Introduction
Welcome to the Solar System exploration WebQuest! in this activity students will be exploring what is in our space we live in including the Sun, and the eights planets surrounding the sun and their locations. This lesson is designed to help students understand what is our solar system while building their knowledge of space through an engaging and interactive learning assignment.
Task
In this webQuest students will examine the solar system and learn about the 8 planets and the sun which surrounds them. Your task wiil be to gather information and develop an understanding of how the solar system is organized and put you're findings into a canva presentation.
At the end of this activity students will be able to:
- Identify and name the 8 planets in the solar system
- Explain at least one fact about each planet
- Describe the order and locations of the planets with the in relation with the sun.
- Design a visual presentation with each slide going in the correct order of the solar system.
Process
Step 1: Explore the Solar System
Students will watch a video on the solar system during class time before the assignment to learn about the sun and the 8 planets so make sure to pay attention and gather all the information needed including facts about each planet.
Step 2: Divide into groups
Students will divide into groups of 5 and 6 and work on it during class time.
Step 3: Research Information
Students will use teacher approved websites to look and write down information for each planet and the sun in the solar system
Step 4: Organize information onto the presentation
Students will create a Canva presentation with at least 10 slides with 8 including the position and a fact and picture for each planet and for the sun. Last slide should be your biblography including all the links you used for this presentation. Make sure to be as neat and creative as you can!
Step 5: Present
Students will go up and present their presentation based of group number make sure to have each group member talk at least one slide every group member should talk and present to the class.

Conclusion
Throughout this activity you have explored the solar system and now should be able to state the solar system in correct order and remember at least one fact for each planet and the sun. Students worked together as a team with their peers and created an great informative presentation by using technology and social skills now should be able to ace the test!
