Hey there Social Studies Stars ! Welcome to another Social Studies lesson.
Today, you'll be learning about the different types of families.

Think about this question for a second, when you get home today , who will be there waiting for you? Is it your mom or your brother / sister or your grandparents or even your cousin?
In this webquest, you're going on a family discovery mission. You'll explore the different types of families found right here in Jamaica , learn what makes each one unique, and even reflect on your own family.

Task
Your Mission , Should You Choose to Accept It......
By the end of this webquest, you should be able to:

- Define key term such as family, nuclear, single-parent , extended and sibling in your own words
- Identify and describe the different types of families in Jamaican society
- Give real-life Jamaican examples for each family type
- Create a Family Types Chart showing what you've learnt
- Write a short, creative paragragh about the most common family type in Jamaica.
Think of yourself as a Family Researcher, where your job is to investigate , discover, and report back!

In your notebook
, answer this question: "Who do you live with at home?"
Don't overthink it , just write it down!
Visit the Credit Tab and look up definitions for these key terms : 
Family, Nuclear Family, Single-Parent Family, Extended Family, Sibling Family.
Next, write each definition in YOUR OWN WORDS, pretend you're explaining it to your younger cousin!

Write a fun, short paragraph (4- 6 sentences) answering this question: 
" Which family type do you think is most common in Jamaica, and why?"
Include what you learnt and odn't be afraid to share your own opinion!
