Second Industrial Revolution and the Rise of Big Business

Introduction

America Experienced A second Industrial Revolution.

Just like the first revolution steam power and machines replaced the work done by hand, The second Industrial revolution saw new inventions, newly found natural resources and the use of electricity to replace the steam power. 

Task

In this web-Quest we will look at the New Inventions of the 1890 and early 1900s.  We will see how electricity allowed for a new revolution to take place in Industry.  We will also meet some of the individual inventors, business men as well as the presidents who helped to ensure that the growing monopolies did not take advantage of the Amerian people.

As we delve into this history we will create charts, booklets and answer questions to help us understand how these events changed the American Society, the American Economy and the American Government.

Step One: A New Age of Industry
