Psychological Disorders

Introduction

Although mental disorders have been present since the start of history, they only became diagnosablel during the early 20th century. Asylums became hospitals and inmates were renamed as patients. With several different psychosis disorders present in today's society, the diagnosis, causes, and treatments vary from culture to culture. Through web research and word processing programs, you will learn the differences between certain mental disorders and how they may be culturally bound. 

Task

Your assignment is to read and analyze three articles relating to the psychological disorders we have studied so far in class. You will compare and contrast their diagnoses, causes, and treatments and discuss whether or not they are persistent through out all cultures. Your task is to create a multipage document displaying the research you have found using a word processing program.

Process

First, you will search the web for articles pertaining to three psychological disorders. Helpful websites may include:

Then, you will organize your findings into a multipage document explaining the similarities and differences between the three psychological disorders you chose to conduct your research on.

After all your research is conducted through the web search, you will be able to create a well organized multipage document explaining three psychological disorders and how they relate.  Make sure to answer the following questions through out your writing.

How do the psychological disorders relate in their causes, diagnosis, and treatments?

How do they differ?

Are the psychological disorders culture bound or do they vary from culture to culture?
