Types of start in Track & Field

Introduction

Students will learn the two different types of starts in Track & field and the events to which they associated. Students will demonstrate the correct technique when carrying out these starts. Students will work willingly in groups. Students will explain the coaching points while demonstrating the different starts. 

Task

Students will use online resources to learn about the two types of starts in track and field.

Students will state the varying coaching points associated with each type of starts.

Student s will be able to practices and demonstrate these starts during class individually and collaboratively.  

Process

Vocabulary: Crouch start, standing start, bridge position, five points

Students will be assigned to watch videos that demonstrate and explain the various starting positions along with instruction how to correctly execute them.

Vocabulary: students can correctly define and use key terms. 

Audio/visual Comprehension: did students accurately interpret the audio and visual instruction? 

Skill Execution: Are students able to demonstrate the crouch start and standing start correctly? 

 Participation: Dis students engage actively in all parts of the web quest?
