Vocabulary Objective

Introduction

Within this lesson, students will learn to say and understand new words that will help them start speaking in simple sentences. 

Task

This will be a two part assignment for the students. The first part they will be instructed to follow alongside the teacher with repeating the words and giving a definition and then acting it out, and for the second half students will apply the same strategy as the first part but now with another classmate, including visual aid with a drawing.

Process
  • The teacher will start by saying a word and the student will repeat the word, make up a definition to the word and then will need to be able to use it in a sentence. 
  • Students will then, partner up with another classmate and repeat the first part of the exercise by saying a word, giving the definition to the word and then applying it in a drawing form. (ex: "I can help"- draw a picture of someone helping)
Evaluation

Determine if the student were able to recognize and adapt the new vocabulary words given correctly. 

  • Was each word given, used correctly?
  • Did the definitions match each words?
  • Participation within their group activity 
  • Did each picture, match the vocabulary word?
Conclusion

Students will use this activity to learn new words and be able to then apply it to their day to day activities/ everyday lifestyle.
