Have you ever wondered what makes Florida special? The Everglades is one of the most unique places in our state! it is home to many animals, plants, and people who depend on it everyday.

Why is the Florida Everglades an important place to protect?

-Identify where the Everglades is located.

-Name animals and plants that live in the Everglades.

-Explain why the Everglades is important to Florida.

Task

You will work in a small group to create a poster that teaches others about the Florida everglades.

Your Poster must include....

-a title

-Where the everglades is located.

-At least Two animals that live there.

-One reason why the everglades should be protected.

-Pictures (drawn or cut out from a magazine)

Step 1: Read About the Everglades

Books include- 

-The Everglades by Gail Gibbons

-Everglades National Park by Allan Fowler

-Who Lives in the Everglades? by Patricia Lauber

 

Step 2: Choose Group Roles

-Reader: Reads the book aloud to the group

-Information Finder: Finds important information

-Artist: Draws pictures for the poster

-Speaker: Shares the poster with the class

 

Step 3: Create Your Poster

- Write short sentences

-Add drawings 

-Use bright colors

-Check that you have everything included

 

Step 4: 

Practice presenting your project and make sure everything is ready to go!
