PREPOSITIONS

Introduction

Prepositions help us describe the location of things:

on, under, in, beside, behind, between, and more.

In this WebQuest, you will become a Preposition Detective.

Your mission is to search for clues, solve challenges, and discover how prepositions help us tell exactly where things are.

Are you ready to investigate? 🕵️‍♂️🔍

Task

Your task is to create a short photo-based mini-book titled:

👉 “Where Is It? A Book of Prepositions”

Your mini-book will include:

  • 5 pictures (you can take actual photos or draw your own)

  • Each picture must show an object in a location

  • Each picture must include one correct preposition

  • One sentence per page (e.g., “The cat is under the table.”)

You will submit your mini-book and present your favorite page to the class.

Process

Step 1 — Learn the basics.

Review common prepositions:

  • on, in, under, behind, beside, between, above, below, near, inside, outside

Step 2 — Explore the interactive activities.

Visit the websites in the Resources section to practice using prepositions.

Step 3 — Gather or create your pictures.

You may:

✔ Take real photos around your house/school

✔ Use clipart

✔ Draw your own illustrations

(Just make sure the preposition is clear!)

Step 4 — Write your sentences.

For each picture, write 1 sentence showing a preposition.

Example:

“The dog is beside the chair.”

Step 5 — Create your mini-book.

You may use:

  • Google Slides

  • Canva

  • MS Word

  • A short bond-paper booklet

  • Any creative format you like!

Step 6 — Submit and present.

Upload your mini-book (or picture of it).

Then pick ONE page to share in class and explain why you chose that preposition.
