Lets Have Fun with Reading Comprehension!

Introduction

Let's Go on a Reading Adventure! 

 ARRRR Hello little matey!  Today we will be going on a pirate adventure through stories, pictures, and words. Reading helps us learn new things and visit exciting places. In this WebQuest you will become an official Pirate Word Hunter! You will be solving puzzles and hunting for words. You will learn how to ask and answer questions about key details in a text, Retell the stories, Identify characters, settings, and major events, Determine the meaning of unknown words. 

So lets turn the page and start our word adventure!  

Task

Your job as pirates will be to listen to stories, look at the pictures, have fun with words, and answer questions. You will

- Find the main ideas.

- Learn new words.

- Share your favorite part of the stories.

- Find words and letters

And then we get to the fun part! You get to make a drawing of the stories and what you learned.

Process

1. Story Time- Listen to a story with your teacher or parent.

2. Discuss what is happening and look at the pictures.

3. Talk about it-

-Who were the characters?

-What did they do?

- Where does the story take place? 

- What was your favorite part? 

-Can you retell the story?

- Can you tell someone the main idea?

 

Word Fun-

- Find new words.

- Draw them.

- Act them out

Make a Reading Poster-

- Draw your favorite part of the stories.

- Draw your favorite characters and write a sentence about them.
