Content
Video of Basic Colour Theory/ Easy Colour Wheel: Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Colours.
This video will explain to students how the three primary colours mix to form secondary colours and then how tertiary colours arise
The video also demonstrates how to construct a twelve segment colour wheel.
Materials:
- Paint, paint brushes, compass, pencil, blank paper, ruler, pencil crayons, palette, overalls and water, internet access and devices.
Product: A fully labelled colour wheel that will aid in colour swatching.
Process:
- The teacher will begin the lesson by asking random students questions based on colour that will stimulate the students' prior knowledge.
- The teacher will then allow the students to form groups of three and then watch a video on colour theory.
- Students within their groups will then document their findings observed from the video
- After which, the teacher will allow the students to experiment with the colours by mixing them
- Finally, the teacher will then ask the students to construct a twelve segment colour wheel that is labelled correctly.
Evaluation:
The teacher will evaluate the lesson by grading the completed Twelve segment colour wheel.
