Introduction
Think about the books we have been reading whole group this month. We have read Magic Treehouse Lions at Lunchtime and Magic Treehouse Polar Bears Past Bedtime. Have you wondered how the books that are written by the same author are similar and different? In this Web Quest, we're going to compare and contrast the themes, settings, and plots of stories written by the same author.
Task
Your task is to work in pairs to compare and contrast the two books, Magic Treehouse Lions at Lunchtime and Magic Treehouse Polar Bears Past Bedtime. You will make a slide show explaining the differences in the characters, setting, and themes of the books. You will the present it when finished.
Process
1. Get into a group with your elbow partner.
2. Get the two books that we've read in class and set them on your table.
3. Divide responsibilities between the two of you (book highlighter, comparing slides, contrasting slides).
4. Grab a computer to share and create the presentation based off the similarities and differences that you've found throughout the book.
5. Watch the video of comparing themes, settings, and plots attached below.
6. Create a presentation with an introduction slide, 3 content slides (comparing and contrasting), and a conclusion slide.
7. When finished, email the presentation to the email that's listed on your paper.
8. Then present once the whole class has finished.

I will make sure each student will have a copy of the books they're comparing and contrasting. I will have the computers charged and ready for them to use. I will walk around the room to answer questions if needed.
