A lesson on how to get children motivated in school

Introduction

In this lesson, we will be learning and understanding the different techniques of how you can make your classroom efficient yet fun for your students. The final outcome are the many ways you can benefit your classroom and teaching skills in order to grab the students attention and get them motivated to learn. The three main and important ways are creating a supportive and safe environment, understanding your students interests and learning styles, and lastly, always having a positive attitude to ensure their happiness to learn.

Task

During this WebQuest, you will create a powerpoint on the different ways and ideas you come up with in order to make your classroom a safe, positive and engaging way in order for the students to become motivated to learn.

With each idea given, there are plenty of different ways that you as a future educator will be able to come up and inspire your kids to come to school and enjoy learning.

Process

For this project, each team will be given a different grade to work with.

Once the grade of the students is given, you are to make a powerpoint on the different ways you can motivate the children to learn. The ways are endless (e.g. different quotes around the classrooms, different teaching techniques, prize boxes, etc). It is your job to create the powerpoint around the grade level you are given.

Within the powerpoint there should be a least 4 ideas and creative ways your classroom will be for the future students of education. This is supposed to be fun, so add colors, pictures, designs and quotes for it will be apart of the rubric and final grade.

In total, your powerpoint should have 5 slides (you can put more), starting with your title cover. The title cover should include your grade level and the group you were working with on this powerpoint. Your next four slides should be the ideas you came up with and at least 3 reasonings to support the idea you had.

Evaluation

Evaluation will be out of 100 points.

The breakdown is as followed:

Different slides with different ideas for the powerpoint- 50 points. Each slide should have the main idea, the reasonings behind how the idea would work in a classroom setting and pictures (if done before) to show an example of how it'll motivate children to learn.

Grammer and Spelling-20 points. I will ensure each slide has the proper spelling and grammar used.

Creativity- 30 points. The powerpoints should have uplifting pictures, artwork, and color to ensure the 30 points of the grade. No bland work.
