After the civil war america entered a new age, with new amedments,politics, and perspectives. In this webquest i will talk about:
- 13th, 14th, and 15th amedments.
- reconstruction policies.
- multiple perspectives of difrent groups or people.
- and failed policies.

our task is to share and learn how reconstruction afected the future of america.

The process we are useing involves research and analysis of the reconstruction era in america.
Evaluation
During the reconstruction amendments 13th, 14th, and 15th were passed.
Amendment 13 abolished slavery in the U.S.
Amendment 14 said "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
Amendment 15 said "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude"
Reconstruction after the civil war; after the civil war, blacks belived that they were entiteled to the same rights as whites, and congress sound be punished for their roles in the civil war.
After the reconstruction policies, they passed the civil rights act of 1866, the civil rights act of 1866 granted citizinship and same rights enjoyed by white citizens to all male persons in the united states, without disscosion of race, color, or previouse condition of slavery or involentary servitude.
Ku Klux Klan Act 1871
In the years after the Civil War, the South began to see the emergence of white terrorist groups. These organizations of composed mostly of veterans still aspring to the goals of the Confederacy and their own Southern heritage, brought terror to freed blacks who looked to participate in the community as well as to their white allies. The Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871 was Congress' attempt to put an end to the policies of terrorism, intimidation, and violence that the Klan, the Knights of the White Camelia, and the Jayhawkers had been using. The law failed to eradicate the Klan or abolish the continued use of fear tactics and brutality against blacks and supportive whites.
After the ku klux klan act of 1871, Congress passed the civil rights act of 1875, wich protected all americans regardless of race, in their access to public acomindations and facilities such as resturants, theators, trains and other public transportaion, and protected their rights to surve in juries.Now we see multiple different prespectives of groups and people. First theirs black codes. by late 1865 after the 13th ammendment passed, due to president johnson's reconstruction policies, white southerners reistablished civl authority in the confederate states, witch then came black codes, it restricted freed black activitie and ensured their avalability as labor force, now that slavery had been abolished. Booker T. Washington
Growing up a slave, Booker T. Washington was a leader to all former slaves, for all the things he accomplished in his life. he became a great educator, regardless of what he went though in the past. A rolemodel to all people. E.B Dubois Another great leader much like Booker T. Washington, was E.B Dubois, he was the first african american to earn a Ph.D from Harvard University. He was a great spokes person for the african american people. Abraham Lincoln President Abraham Lincoln was a great impact during the reconstruction, he set up reconstructed governments in several southern states during the war, including Tennessee, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Andrew Johnson After President Abraham Lincoln Died, President Johnson was takeing charge, He had a plan to restore the south in 1865. he passed the 13th ammendment in janurary 1865. but, His plans did not give protection to the former slaves, and he came into conflict with the Republican Congress, culminating in his impeachment by the House of Representatives. he was the first president top be impeached. Ku Klux Klan During the reconstruction, manny people didint like what was happening, one of those groups was the Ku Klux Klan. They were a Group of political and social terrorist. They were more successful in achieving their political goals than they were with their social goals during the Reconstruction era. Sharecropping Sharecropping Dring the reconstruction had benefits and costs for both the owners and the croppers. It encouraged the cropper to remain on the land throughout the harvest season to work the land. At the same time, since the cropper pays in shares of his harvest, owners and croppers share the risk of harvests being large or small and prices being high or low. Because tenants benefit from larger harvests, they have an incentive to work harder and invest in better methods than in a slave plantation system
Conclusion
During the reconsturuction, reconstriction policies, and group purspectives are what helped shape america, to what it is now, some were good, some were bad, but it got us to were we are now.
