Introduction

 

Students will be given three different types of psychological theories. The students will be put into groups while they get on the internet to get resources and compile information. In this activity, students will stay in their groups and take the information they have compiled and put it into a table.

Background Information:

  • Cognitive Psychology: Focuses on understanding mental processes such as perception, memory, reasoning, and problem-solving.
  • Behaviorism: Emphasizes observable behaviors and the ways they are learned through interactions with the environment.
  • Social Cognitive Theory: Highlights the importance of observational learning, imitation, and modeling in behavior development.

Objective: You will research the three different theories and compare the similarities and differences between all three. You will then use this information to create a table that is will organized and easy to read.

Student's will be required to create a table listing the similarities and differences of the three different theories.

The students can use vary of tools poster boards, construction paper, and other drawing instruments.

Students can also use Microsoft word and other online tools to help them create a table.

 

Process

Step 1. Students will divide into groups.

Step 2. Students will get their Chromebook out and gather information from a number of different sources. Behaviorism In Psychology

Step 3. Students will create a table either using physical writing utensils or online utensils.

Step 4. Students will take the information they have gathered and put the information on the table.

Step 5. Students will then put their tables outside of the classroom door to share others what they have learned in class today.

Conclusion

Students were asked to search up three psychological theories and gather some information about it that pointed at similarities and differences between the theories.

How does behaviorism explain learning, and what are the key mechanisms?

What is the relationship between working memory and intelligence?

How does Social Cognitive Theory view the relationship between behavior, personal factors, and the environment?
