Your Sea Box Art 101

Introduction

VA.912.F.3.7 : Create a body of collaborative work to show artistic cohesiveness, team-building, respectful compromise, and time-management skills.

What does the ocean look like to your group?

How did your group work together to build a cohesive sea box?

Do you think your group could have done the project faster?  If so what could you have do different to do so?

Task

Students will get in groups of four and create a aquarium in a shoe box.

Process

Each student in the group will select one of the four mediums presented and create different elements in the box. Example one student can use acrylic for the animals of the aquarium while another student used charcoal for the background. Students will have four class periods to complete the assignment. Students can use https://jamonkey.com/cardboard-box-aquarium/ to look up a step-by-step tutorial on how to make an aquarium in the shoe box. The only thing they will have to add is the different mediums to the different elements.

Evaluation

Students will be graded based on creativity, teamwork seen in class, cohesiveness in the aquarium, and neatness.
