The civil rights movement was a social movement that lasted from 1950's to the 1960's. It included many significant and important civil right leaders that helped fight for equal rights for everyone primarily African Americans (Who was affected the most).
There were many famous civil rights movement leaders that are talked about to this day. Here is a list of some of them:

Task
Standard: (Social Sciences): 5.27 Identify characteristics of an event, issue or problem, suggesting possible causes and results.
Learning Objectives:
- I will understand and identify some of the Civil Rights Movement events
- I will identify civil rights leaders in a blooket (Interactive tech tool)
Goal: Students will use the information and videos about civil rights leaders to answer a blooket quiz to identify civil right leaders.
Process
Step 1: Fill out the first two boxes on KWL chart. (Independently)
Step 2: Turn your attention to the screen. The teacher will play an introduction video about the civil rights movement (Use your KWL chart to fill out the last box during the video).
Step 3: Watch this video and read these websites about civil rights movement and the civil rights leaders (Independently). Pay attention to the sources, we will be doing a blooket to identify Civil Rights leaders later on.

Step 4: Finish filling out the last box in your KWL chart.
Step 5: Wait for teacher to tell you when you can start your independent blooket quiz. (This will be done independently)
Step 6: (Last step) (Exit ticket). You will have a classroom discussion led by the teacher about what you have learned and something your still confused on.

Conclusion
After the blooket: Students put away all your materials including your chrome books. Return to your seats after and raise your hand so the teacher knows you are ready for the exit ticket. The exit ticket will be a classroom discussion reflecting on what you learned and what you are confused on. Have a nice day! I will see you all when I return tomorrow.
