You and your partner will be tasked to complete a 12 slide slideshow. You are required to do at least 50% of the required slides to get a grade above 0. Your first slide, or title slide will include you and your partners name and a title. Your second slide will then be a recap on absolutism. You will then have to make a claim about absolutism and its role in English history. From there, you will include slides backing up and explaining its effects on its history. You will then close up with a conclusion slide. Your last side will include all sources used to acquire information for the slide.
After completing your slideshow and presentation, you will then complete a written reflection on this doc; https://docs.google.com/document/d/10kEf3UNVUGAWyf4GrGTrQ30bhaaT91AIyU6-evjP8oo/edit?usp=sharing

Teacher Page
Hello! I know you're probably wondering why I had you do this assignment. See, I believe that teaching by handing out "friggin" packets (yo) is not the best way to teach. Reading and writing has an extremely low retention rate of the topic learned. Of course, you will still need to hone in your writing skills, hence the short essay. The presentation's purpose is to foster cooperation and interaction in learning. By presenting, you not only retain more of the topic, but also learn to effectively communicate to an audience, skills that will prove to be important later in life.
Now of course, why this topic? Why absolutism in England? England stands out as a bastion of democracy in a time of dictatorship. It serves as an example of what can happen if the people stand up against the total consolidation of power. I also believe it shows the importance of compromise, with the monarchy being retained, but powers being transferred and limited mostly to parliament.
Overall, it's a unique story in history, and is eventually important in the spread of democracy to the Americas. Every little thing effects history significantly.
