Exploring Our Planet: Landforms and Bodies of Water

Introduction

Introduction

Have you ever wondered how mountains, rivers, and oceans are formed? Why do some places have deserts while others have forests? In this Web Quest, you will become explorers, learning about different landforms and bodies of water around the world.

By the end of this journey, you will be able to:

  • Identify and describe major landforms and bodies of water (SS.2.G.1.1)
  • Compare and contrast different landforms using real-world examples (SS.3.G.2.3)
  • Analyze how landforms and water bodies affect human life and animal habitats (SC.4.E.6.4)
  • Apply your knowledge by creating an informative group presentation on a specific landform or body of water

Guiding Questions:

  1. What are the different types of landforms and bodies of water?
  2. How do these physical features shape the environment and human life?
  3. Why is it important to protect Earth's natural features?

Bloom’s Taxonomy Skills Covered:

* Remembering: Define and identify landforms and bodies of water

* Understanding: Describe how they are formed and their characteristics

* Analyzing: Compare different landforms and their impact on people and wildlife

      • Slide 4: Locations Around the World (Include a map!)
      • Slide 5: Impact on Humans & Wildlife
      • Slide 6: Why It’s Important & How We Can Protect It
  • Record Your Narration

    • Each team member will contribute to recording a part of the presentation using PowerPoint’s voice recording feature.
