In this WebQuest, you will:
- read a story and understand the main events
- learn at least 8 new English words
- create your own imaginary planet and then describe it to your friends.
Process
Step 1: Read the Story
- Open the link to Raymond Mayweather and the Blue Planet (https://www.freechildrenstories.com/raymond-mayweather-and-the-blue-planet).
- First, listen to the story and then read the story on your own.
Step 2: Vocabulary Activity
- Write down 8 words you don’t know from the story.
- Use a dictionary to learn their meanings (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/).
- Write a definition for the word or draw a picture for each word to help you remember it if you prefer. It can be something you only understand!
Step 3: Reading Comprehension
- Choose a mind map and fill it in with the main events in the story (https://www.canva.com/graphs/mind-maps/).
- Compare your map to that of a friend.
- You can work with a friend on this if you want.
- Describe Raymond Mayweather. You can use any word or phrase you know.
- Talk about how Raymond feels during his adventure. Do you feel the same?
- Do you think the blue planet is special?

Step 4: Create Your Own Planet
