After the video, discuss the questions with the group class:

So, what is a risk? What types of risks do we have?

Is it necessary to take risks in our lives? Why? Why not?

Task

The task will be divided into three steps:

1. What was your riskiest decision in your life? In no more than four students, answer and analyze the question. After the discussion, individually, write your riskiest decision in 100 words. Explain and share your experience. 

2. Create your avatars in pairs with the app DreamFace/ Talking Avatar. You have two options:

  • Choose a picture/ photo of a famous person or yourself. 
  • Personalize your animated avatar by adding clothes, colours, etc. 

3. Then, create a short video with your avatar talking about your riskiest decision of activity 1. (Be in mind this is individual work)

Guidance:

  • Download the app "DreamFace" to your cellphone or tablet.
  • Follow the instructions of the app.
  • Do not waste your time editing every detail of the avatar. Choose only important details. 
  • Be concise with your writing. 
  • Check the dictionary if you are not sure about some expressions.

  • Reflect on taking risks in your life and consider the importance of this reflection to avoid unnecessary risks by reading the text "Blame your Brain".
  • Think about the important aspects or details to create an avatar. The app has specific instructions to follow and create a character successfully. 

Products

  • They will share their videos by a drive group. 
  • The students will provide feedback about their videos, and some tools that they used and clarify doubts.

Report 

  • Listen carefully to each other's presentation.
  • Take notes. 
  • Share comments and identify different sections that need improvement. 
  • Provide constructive feedback.

Conclusion

 Nowadays, it is fundamental to apply technology in our classes not only because of the variety of tools but also to focus the student's attention. As teachers, it is essential to be prepared for new generations and guide them in the learning process.
