Introduction

How to properly shoot a free throw.

Task

You will shoot the ball with feet behind the free throw line with you dominant hand and complete 5 made free throws.

Process
  • Stand behind the free throw line
  • Bend their knees to generate power
  • Align their body with the basket 
  • Extend their arms with the ball held at head level and release the ball with a smooth flick of the wrist,
  • Aiming for the center of the hoop while keeping both feet planted on the ground throughout the shot
Evaluation
  • Assessing key aspects of the shooters stance
  • Ball handling
  • Release point
  • Arc on the ball
  • Follow-through
  • Consistency
Conclusion

The assignment is placed to teach any person who wants to learn how to shoot a free to do so with the previous steps.  If the process is completed and each step is done correctly the shooter will make the free throw.
