Directions:

  • The Class will be divided into 3 groups.
  • Each group will choose a representative to pick a paper with a number corresponding to one of the scenarios.
  • Each group will act out both the situation and their proposed solution.

 

Scenario 1: Encountering Cyberbullying

Situation: Alex receives hurtful messages from a classmate on a social media platform. The messages are making Alex feel upset and isolated.

 

Scenario 2: Being Asked to Share Personal Information

Situation: Jamie is playing an online game when another player sends a private message asking for Jamie’s personal information, such as their home address and phone number.

 

Scenario 3: Encountering Misinformation

Situation: Taylor comes across a viral post on social media claiming that a new law is being passed that will affect students' rights. Taylor is unsure whether the information is accurate.

 

Process

Step 1: Group Formation

  • The class will be divided into three groups.
  • Each group will consist of an equal number of students to ensure balanced participation.

Step 2: Scenario Selection

  • Each group will select a representative.
  • The representative will draw a paper with a number corresponding to one of the scenarios (1, 2, or 3).

Step 3: Scenario Review

  • Once the scenario is selected, the group should discuss the situation in detail
  • Discuss how the individual in the scenario feels and the impact of the situation.

Step 4: Solution Brainstorming

  • Each group will brainstorm possible solutions to the situation.
  • Consider the following approaches:
  • Empathy: How can they support the individual?
  • Action: What steps should be taken to address the issue? •
  • Resources: What resources (e.g., trusted adults, online safety tools) can be utilized?

Step 5: Role-Playing Preparation

  • Groups will plan how to act out both the situation and their proposed solution:
  • Assign roles to group members (e.g., the individual facing the issue, the aggressor, supportive friends).

Step 6: Practice

  • Groups will practice their skits to ensure clarity and confidence.
  • Encourage feedback within the group to improve their performance.

Step 7: Presentation

  • Each group will present their skit to the class.
  • After each presentation, allow a few minutes for questions and discussion about the situation and the proposed solutions.
