Introduction
Philippines is a combines Eastern and Western influences, reflecting its complex past and resilient people. Filipino culture is renowned for its famous hospitality, where guests are treated with utmost warmth and generosity, and its festive spirit, celebrated through vibrant festivals like Sinulog and Ati-Atihan.
Task
The class will be divided into three groups. Each group will be designated in different tasks to role play some relative to Filipino culture.
The purpose of the activity is to have students a better understanding on culture and traditions that helps them connect with their roots, fostering a stronger sense of identity and belonging.
Process
1. Each group will select some relative Filipino Culture
Group leader and members recognizes some relative Filipino culture that can be effectively role-
played and suggest it to the group. The group can list Filipino culture on their notes and
decide on culture they want to work out.
2. Construction of role-play situation
This includes their objectives, the characters to be involved, the attitudes and
personality of the characters, the setting and the point at which the story should begin.
3. Casting the players
Specify the names of the role players rather than their using their own name
should be used to get them into their roles. Role players should attempt to express the
attitudes the group has assigned to the various characters as well as the goals decided
upon.
4. Briefing
The leader may cut a point where enough action has already occurred to provide a
basis for discussion.
5. Role-playing action
This is the actual scenario of the role-playing, interaction between audiences or
observers and the role players occur.

This activity will be assessed base on the following rubrics:
