Introduction
  • (MS CCRS: Social Studies) - 8.2: Evaluate the key people, factors, and events that led to the American Revolution and the establishment of the United States government.

Objectives:

  • TSW demonstrate an understanding of the causes of the American Revolution with 75% accuracy.
  • TSW identify the leaders of the American Revolution with 70% accuracy.

Today, you will work on completing a WebQuest on the Road to the American Revolution. You will work as historians to investigate how the American Colonies and the leaders of the American Revolution became unhappy. As you investigate, consider this essential question: What caused the American Revolution?

Task

For this assignment, you will view videos and visit websites to investigate the causes of the American Revolution. As you progress through this WebQuest, write down any noteworthy information and pay attention to the details. Act as a historian, read closely, and think critically. After completing the WebQuest, you will be expected to answer five multiple-choice questions covering the causes and leaders of the American Revolution. After answering these questions, you will write one paragraph (3-5 sentences) demonstrating how YOU believe the American Revolution began. Use what you learned as evidence to back your claim. THINK LIKE A HISTORIAN!
