Planning a dream vacation

Imagine you have the opportunity to go on your dream vacation! You can visit any country or city in the world, and you have a budget of $3,000 for the trip. Your task is to plan the perfect vacation and present your plan to the class, convincing them that your vacation idea is the best.

You will work in pairs to research and plan a dream vacation. After gathering all the information, you will create a short presentation where both partners will share details about your trip. You should focus on describing:

1. The destination and why you chose it.
2. The activities and experiences you will have there.
3. Where you will stay and the costs involved.
4. How you will spend your budget of $3,000.

In your presentation, be persuasive, and speak fluently, as your classmates will vote for the best vacation plan!

Step 1: Research Your Destination

Choose a country or city for your dream vacation.

Use the provided resources to gather information about flights, accommodation, food, activities, and any attractions you want to visit.

Step 2: Plan Your Itinerary

Create a detailed itinerary for a 7-day vacation. Include activities like sightseeing, visiting museums, trying local food, or going on adventures.

Be creative! Think about how you’ll spend each day.

Step 3: Budget Your Trip

You have $3,000 to spend. Look up prices for flights, hotels, meals, and activities, and make sure you stay within your budget.

Step 4: Create Your Presentation

Prepare a 5-minute presentation with your partner to describe your vacation. Both of you should speak for at least 2-3 minutes.

Use visuals like pictures or a map to make your presentation more engaging.

Step 5: Present and Vote

Present your vacation plan to the class. After all presentations, the class will vote on which vacation they would most like to go on.

You will be assessed based on:

1. Speaking Fluency (30%): How smoothly you speak, with minimal pauses or hesitation.
2. Pronunciation & Accuracy (20%): Correct use of grammar and clear pronunciation.
3. Creativity (20%): How interesting and unique your vacation plan is.
4. Teamwork (15%): How well you worked together as a team.
5. Engagement & Persuasiveness (15%): How convincing and engaging your presentation was.

By the end of this project, you will have practiced your speaking skills by describing and presenting a detailed plan in English. You’ll also gain experience with researching real-world information and using it to create a persuasive presentation.
