USEFULNESS OF PLANTS

Introduction

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Plants!

Have you ever wondered how plants help us every day? They are more than just pretty flowers in our gardens—they are a big part of our lives! In this WebQuest, we will explore how plants are useful to us in many different ways. You will get to watch a fun video, play games, and even create your own scrapbook filled with pictures of things made from plants. Whether it's the paper you draw on or the wooden blocks you play with, plants are all around us!

Are you ready to discover the amazing things that plants can do? Let’s go on this green adventure together!

Task

                                       Your Green Mission:

Get ready to explore the amazing world of plants and discover all the wonderful things they do for us! Here’s what you need to do:

Watch and Learn: Start by watching a video about how plants are useful. Pay close attention, because you’ll need this information later!

Group Activity: After the video, you’ll join your classmates to sort pictures of different household items. Your job is to figure out which items are made from plants and which are not. Work together and use what you’ve learned from the video to make the right choices!

Creative Scrapbook: Next, you’ll create your own scrapbook page. You’ll paste pictures of things made from plants into your scrapbook. Don’t forget to write (or tell your teacher) what each item is used for.

Classroom Exploration: Take a look around your classroom. Can you find two things that are made from plants? Once you spot them, share them with the class!

Color and Connect: Finally, you’ll get to color pictures of different items made from plants. Draw a line from each plant to the item it helps make.

By the end of this adventure, you’ll be a plant expert, ready to share what you’ve learned with everyone!

Process

Step 1: Watch and Discuss

Gather around and watch the video about the "Uses of Plants." Make sure you're sitting comfortably and can see the screen.

As you watch, think about all the different ways plants help us. The teacher will pause the video to ask you questions, so be ready to share what you’ve noticed!

Step 2: Group Sorting Activity

After the video, you will be divided into two groups. Each group will get a set of pictures showing different household items.

Work together with your group to sort the pictures into two piles: "Made from Plants" and "Not Made from Plants."

Once your group is done, share your choices with the class. Let’s see if everyone agrees!

Step 3: Create Your Scrapbook Page

Now it’s time to get creative! You’ll each get a scrapbook page and a set of pictures showing items made from plants.

Use glue to paste the pictures onto your scrapbook page. Try to remember what each item is used for, and either write it down or share it with the teacher.

Step 4: Classroom Exploration

Let’s go on a mini-adventure in the classroom! Look around carefully to find two items that are made from plants.

When you find something, raise your hand and share it with the class. Don’t forget to explain how you know it’s made from plants!

Step 5: Color and Connect

For the final step, you’ll get a worksheet with pictures of plants and the items they help make.

Use your coloring tools to bring the pictures to life! Then, draw a line from each plant to the item it makes.

Once you’re done, share your work with a friend or the teacher.

Now that you've completed all the steps, you're officially a plant expert! Great job!
