Learning Objective Webquest

Introduction

Objectives: Make sure that the students are engaged within the lesson.

Make sure that the assignment has a reasonable time frame.

Make sure that the students are able to learn efficiently.

Task

Have students learn about their times tables through practice homework on worksheets, as well as xtramath.com in which they can create a free account, interactive lessons where students can learn by talking to me and raising their hands with answers or questions on multiplication.

Process

Step 1: spend their math time explaining what the times tables are, starting slow with the first few times tables and ease them into more later on.

Step 2: give them a simple worksheet which they can start out on for homework, and get them to make an account on xtramath.org

Step 3: let the students come to you if they have any questions

Step 4: rinse and repeat, continue giving lessons on more and more times tables, as well as homework through worksheets and extra math. Be sure to give mini quizzes once a week.

Extra step: if certain students are having trouble, meet up with them during free times and have a personal group activity so they can learn better.

Evaluation

For worksheets, this will include a rubric with a total of 10 points

Participation points: making sure the students do their assignments (3 points

Timeliness: make sure the worksheets are given the day they are due (1 point)

Neatness: make sure the answers are easy to read (1 point)

Correctness: Make sure the assignments are done correctly (5 points)

For xtramath.org

they should do at least 10 facts per week. The rubric would be worth 10 points as well, 1 point per fact.

Quizzes:

worth 20 points, will be given once a week. Will be given 10 questions worth 2 points each.

Conclusion

Students will learn about Multiplication through discussing it with the class, worksheets, xtramath.org, and quizzes given once a week. If they have trouble with the lessons, they will be able to meet up for a personal group session with students who also have trouble with the multiplication, most likely two times a week. Students should be able to understand how to multiply numbers 1-12 by the end of the curriculum.
