Your Role as a Health Advocate:
- Cancer-Fighting Investigators: Dive deep into the science behind the Mediterranean diet and its remarkable ability to ward off cancer. Uncover the secrets of its potent ingredients and how they work together to protect our bodies.
- Menu Masterminds: Design a mouthwatering weekly meal plan packed with cancer-fighting superstars. Your menu should be a tantalizing blend of flavors and nutrients, demonstrating that healthy eating can be delicious and satisfying.
- Persuasive Presenters: Share your groundbreaking discoveries with the class. Create an e-magazine that highlights the link between diet and cancer prevention, inspiring others to embrace the power of their plates.
Let's embark on this extraordinary journey together and discover how food can be our greatest weapon in the battle for better health!
Process
Step 1: Do you remember....?
There's a brief brainstorming so to develop cognitive gaps in topics that will be useful for the webQuest's efficient implementation, based to the following questions:
- Which is the role of each essential nutrient in health prevention?
- What are the key components of the Mediterranean diet?
- How does following a Mediterranean lifestyle boost our overall well-being?
We make conclussions with the use of a presentation designed for the needs of Cancer Day celebration during implementation of an another ongoing Erasmus+ project, entitled "Addressing Health and Wellbeing at school and beyond" :

Step 2: Research: Investigate Cancer Prevention
Students are divided in teams so to make a research on:
- TEAM 1: The types of cancer the Mediterranean diet can help be prevented
- TEAM 2: The components of the Mediterranean diet that are linked to cancer prevention
- TEAM 3: The scientific studies that support the link between the Mediterranean diet and cancer prevention
Students are encouraged to keep notes with their findings in the padlet:
Then they will make use of them so as to design a visually appealing and informative e-magazine that:
- Highlights the specific components of the Mediterranean diet that combat cancer.
- Summarizes your key findings about the Mediterranean diet and cancer prevention.
- Incorporates visuals, such as images of Mediterranean dishes, graphs, and charts, to enhance understanding.
so to inspire others to embrace the Mediterranean lifestyle.

- Menu Planning: Select a main course, side dish, and dessert that align with the Mediterranean diet and incorporate cancer-fighting ingredients.
- Ingredient Selection: Choose fresh, seasonal produce, lean proteins, whole grains, and healthy fats.
- Recipe Development: Experiment with flavors and textures to create a mouthwatering dish.
- Cooking Demonstration: Prepare your dish for the class, explaining the rationale behind your ingredient choices and cooking techniques.
All meal plans are posted to a padlet:
Students are encouraged to provide a constructive feedback to their peers: Remember, your goal is to not only share information but also to inspire your audience to make positive changes in their eating habits.
