Introduction
Good day!
Today we are going to tackle about Demonstrative Pronouns. Demonstrative pronouns are used to replace nouns in sentences. They are used when pointing to specific things using "this, these, that, those".
Task
Identify what demonstrative pronoun to be used when pointing at a specific things.
Process
Put up four chairs in front of the class then put things of different quantify and distance.
On the first chair, put 1 ballpen near you as the reference.
On the second chair, put 3 stuffed toys near you as the reference.
On the third chair, put 1 mirror far from you.
On the fourth chair, put 5 erasers far from you.
Now, with the presentation. Point at the chair one by one and emphasize what is the correct demonstrative pronoun to be used when pointing at the first chair with 1 ballpen on it and near you as the speaker, given the ballpen is categorized as singular. Proceed with the second chair, and say "these are stuffed toys" where demonstrative pronoun "these" is used because three stuffed toys are plural in form and that they are near the speaker. On the third chair, where the mirror is far from you, say " That is a mirror." In reference to something that is singular in form and is far from the speaker. Lastly, the fourth chair, say " Those are five erasers." Explain that "those" was used because there are many erasers and these are far from you.
Evaluation
Evaluate the pupils based on the correct usage of the demonstrative pronouns when pointing at specific things.
