In this WebQuest you will explore the topic Nutrients

Task

Your task is to complete the following in groups of four. Each group will be assigned a specific nutrient.

Objectives:

  • Define/describe the nutrient
  • Identify at least four food sources for the nutrient assigned
  • State at least five functions of the nutrient
  • State the health condition(s) associated with the improper intake of the nutrient
Process

Research Technique:

  • In groups of four watch the uploaded video as well as utilize the textbooks and internet to gather information on the assigned nutrient. 

Equipment and Technology:

  • Chromebook
  • Wi-Fi
  • Smartboard
  • Learning Management System (Canva, Google slides, PowerPoint etc.)

Presentation:

  • Share findings with the class using an audio-visual presentation (Canva, Google slides, PowerPoint etc.)

Conclusion

Nutrients are very important to all, as such careful consideration should be given when selecting foods to eat. Having the knowledge about the chemical substances in foods and the effects of these chemical substances on the body when consumed will enable us to make better eating choices.
