Freak the Mighty Adventure

Introduction

In this adventure you will learn about different disabilities that can impact you or your peers here at school and in life.  This quest will help you better understand the main characters of our upcoming novel Freak the Mighty.  When you work through this quest, pay attention to these different diabilities mentioned, and think about how your life would change if you were born with something like this.  

Task

During this WebQuest, you will be learning about different disabilities that impact our main characters in our new novel Freak the Mighty. Your task will be to  determine what these disabilities are, how they can impact you and your learning, This knowlede will help you better understand our characters and grow your background knowledge on these topics before we start reading. 

 

Process
  1. Students will be partnered up to work with a peer in class.
  2. Using different links, students will work to answer several questions helping them to better understand the main characters in our upcoming novel.

Conclusion

Have you ever thought about how having a learning disabillity, or being born differently could impact you?  Does this help you  have more understanding of some of your classmates or even yourself.  Students in your classrooms here at school have learning disabilties and are working hard everyday. Lets use this information to have some compassion for those around us!
