Introduction
Imagine a world where education is not available to all. During the 1900s education was not provided for Black children. Before the landmark Brown v. Board decision, 17 states legally required—and another four permitted—racially segregated schools. In many communities, segregation relegated Black children to schools lacking textbooks, libraries, auditoriums, cafeterias, and other amenities provided for white children. For some Black children, segregation meant no school at all.
Until 1940, Howard High in Wilmington, Delaware, was the state’s only high school for Black students.
Task
For the following task please read the article "Barriers to Education"

Create a Venn diagram comparing how the school system worked back in 1900's and how it is during present day.
Use your experience in the school system as a student to complete the assignment.
Process
On the left side please list how the school system was back in the 1900s.
On the right side include how the school system is during present times.
In the middle part of the Venn Diagram include three to five things that are still happening from the 1900s until present.
Evaluation
You will be evaluated on how well you describe events during both time frames. Each side of the Venn Diagram must contain at least three comparisons, and not a maximum of five.
Conclusion
The school system has changed drastically to include many cultures and minorities. People have been working hard to make an inclusive environment in the classroom, however, there are still many things that need to be changed in order to achieve inclusion. We have grown from having no education for Black people, to having segregated classrooms, to no school at all, and to desegregation based on race. But sadly, it still remains an issue in contemporary education.
