Understanding What We Put in Our Bodies

Introduction

Hello there, fellow foodies!

Is there anything better than a home cooked meal? Or your favorite snack when you want it the most? Food is essential, we cant survive with out it! 

But, some foods are better than others. Some foods make us feel sluggish and bloated; while others help us feel energized and ready to face the day.

Choosing the right foods to put in our body is key to overall health. So, sure! Enjoy a treat every now and then, but lets embark on an exploration to find out what's best for us!

Task

Your task is to research and come up with an ideal meal plan for a single day. Then, create a detailed and visually appealing poster showing off your meals and relevant information. 

Process

1. Research- Use websites such as myplate.gov to figure out what the suggested daily food distribution and serving sizes are.

2. Create- Use pictures found on the internet, in a magazine, or real food labels to decorate your poster. Add information like serving sizes, shopping list, and/or recipes. The more detail the better! You and your classmates can really use this information!

3. Present- Time to show off your hard work!  In a 5 minute presentation, present you poster to the class.

Evaluation

Your poster will be graded as follows:

  • Accuracy of information (30 points)
  • Creativity and visual appeal (10 points)
  • Overall presentation (10 points)
