Attendance

Introduction

Why is attending school regularly important?

What are the impacts of missing too much school?

What causes students to miss school?

Now, imagine you are in charge of improving the attendance of students at Oxford Elementary. How will you motivate or inspire students to attend school regularly? How will you inform parents and students of the consequences of missing too much school?

Task

The superintendent has just named your group the Attendance Leadership Group. You are in charge of creating an informative and educational video to encourage students to attend school regularly and parents to get their students to school on time. Your video will need to inform both parents and students of the potential negative consequences of missing too much school. It will also need to provide some tips to help students/families have good attendance.

Process

Use the following resources to gather information for your video. Also, use the recording sheet given by Ms. McCoy to write down ideas to be used in your video for each required element.
