Introduction
Grade level: Kindergarten
Time frame: 30 minutes
Hi! Are you ready yo learn how to count with Spongebob, and learn to pair numbers with the amount of objects shown? Lets get started! Spongebob is excited to teach you how to count. By the end of this lesson, you'll be a counting pro!
Task
- Purpose (why you are doing this activity, provide, if necessary, background info). This is to help my students practice pairing objects with the correct number in a fun and interactive way. I will be introducing my website by giving a brief background on SpongeBob and how he loves to help kids learn.
- Objectives (what your students will learn or will be able to after completing this WebQuest activity) When completing this activity students will have improved their ability to pair numbers and will have fun in doing so.
- Description: In this activity, SpongeBob provides the students with a pairing game where students match SpongeBob-themed objects with the correct number. This is to help students improve their number sense skills by matching objects with the correct number.
Process
- List steps learners should accomplish:
- Be able to match objects with the correct number
- Counting skills
- Visual perception skills
-Ability to recognize numbers
- Explain what the students will be doing to learn the lesson.
My students will be matching SpongeBob-themed objects with the correct number. This will help them to improve their number sense skills by recognizing the correct number that matches the object.
- What new tool will you be using and how? I will be using math bingo SpongeBob themed as the new tool. The students will play bingo to the numbers being called out to the numbers on their cards.
Evaluation
- I will evaluate the lesson by doing a fun activity that will assess the students’ understanding of the concepts and skills taught in the lesson. For example, I will have students draw or color something related to the lesson.
- I will be using the rubric that includes criteria such as creativity, accuracy, and effort. For creativity, I can assess how well the students used their imagination to create their drawings or coloring. For accuracy, I can assess how well the students followed the instructions and how well they completed the task. For effort the students put into their work. I will provide clear instructions and examples to ensure that students understand what is expected from them.
- I will be grading my students over drawings over the lesson, participation, and if they followed directions after completing a task.
- I will be using a grading scale using a letter grade A-F.
Conclusion
Great job counting with SpongeBob! You've learned how to count to 20 and learned to pair numbers with the correct number of items.
