Introduction
Level: Kindergarten to 2nd
Description: This is a WebQuest that can help learners to understand matter in many ways!
Subject: Physical Science
Author: Kaci Olinger
Task
Each day you will dive deeper into physical science learning about matter. Each day will have videos, including music and activities for you to participate in. Learning should be fun, and science is something that can be incredible if you choose to let it be. Watch your videos and participate in the activities each day for a better understanding of the matter. There are also experiments in the videos as well as listed that you can ask an adult to help you with! Have fun learning!
Process
Day 1:
- Listen to this story
- Watch the video and write down 3 things that are matter.
Day 2:
Listen to the song:
Watch the video and answer the questions along the way.
Day 3:
Watch the video:

Listen to the Song:
Are the ingredients solids, liquids or gasses?

Stories:
Evaluation
The students will be assessed throughout the 5 days, gaining points on each question they answer correctly.
Day 1: 3 points
Day 2: 8 points
Day 3: 7 points
Day 4: 3 points
Day 5: 5 points
This allows them multiple opportunities to reach mastery (85%).
There are 26 points available:
22-26 = Mastery!
15-21 = Understanding!
Less than 15 = Let's Review!
Conclusion
We have read, watched, listened, tested and experimented with matter! You have done great! Now it is time for you to have some game time! Enjoy playing the different matter games as your reward for working so hard!

Tennessee State Standards:
SCIENCE
K.PS1: Matter and Its Interactions
Conduct investigations to understand that matter can exist in different states (solid and liquid) and has properties that can be observed and tested.
K.ETS1: Engineering Design 1) Ask and answer questions about the scientific world and gather information using the senses. 2) Describe objects accurately by drawing and/or labeling pictures. K.ETS2: Links Among Engineering, Technology, Science, and Society 1) Use appropriate tools (magnifying glass, rain gauge, basic balance scale) to make observations and answer testable scientific questions.
1.ETS1: Engineering Design 1) Solve scientific problems by asking testable questions, making short-term and long-term observations, and gathering information.
2.ETS1: Engineering Design
Define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool by asking questions, making observations, and gather accurate information about a situation people want to change.
Recognize that to solve a problem, one may need to break the problem into parts, address each part, and then bring the parts back together
COMPUTER SCIENCE
K.FC: Foundational Concepts
1) Locate letters and numbers on the keyboard.
2) Ask questions to conduct investigations, solve problems, and test solutions.
1.FC: Foundational Concepts
1) Navigate to applications and documents by using desktop icons, windows, and menus (e.g., open and close the browser window, find/use bookmark to store the website, recognize and use app on tablet).
2) Demonstrate use of input devices (e.g., mouse, keyboard)

ISTE STANDARDS:
1.1 Empowered Learner
Students leverage technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving, and demonstrating competency in their learning goals, informed by the learning sciences.
1.2 Digital Citizen
Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.
1.6 Creative Communicator
Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.
