Introduction
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J14iRT6HKt4&feature=youtu.beFactorization is the opposite process of expanding brackets. Factorization can be done in four different ways i.e. common factors, difference of two squares, Factorising by grouping in pairs, and factorizing using a quadratic trinomial.
Task
Factorise the following:
- 2x + 2
- 6x² - 3
- 12x + 32y
- 2x² + 6x + 3
- k² - 4
- a² + 2a - 4
- -2ab² - 4a²b
Process
- Divide the entire equation by any common factor of the coefficients.
- Write down two brackets with a variable in each bracket and space for remaining terms: (x )(x ).
- Write down a set of factors.
- Write down a set of options for the possible factors for the quadratic using the factors.
- Expand all options to see which one gives you the correct middle term.

Conclusion
Mathematical object as a product of several factors, usually smaller or simpler objects of the same kind. The process of Factorising a quadratic is mostly a trial and error but there are some strategies that can be used to ease the process.
