What is photosynthesis? - Science Questions

Good day students

In this topic we are going to focus on the process of photosynthesis and

the factors that influence the rate of photosynthesis.

Please find the attached introductory video below.

Task

By the end of this lesson, learners will be able to:

  1. Define the term photosynthesis.
  2. List four factors that influence the rate of photosynthesis.
  3. Provide the end products of the process.
  4. Discuss the two phases that photosynthesis undergoes.
  5. Know the small openings in the lower surface of the leaf.

MEMORANDUM

1. During photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide and water from the air and soil. Within the plant cell, the water is oxidized, meaning it loses electrons while the carbon dioxide is reduced, meaning it gains electrons. This transforms the water into oxygen and the carbon dioxide into glucose.

2. It is the chloroplast.
