Introduction
Navagating through you will find the types of arrangements based on the events they are made for. This assignment will not be done alone, pair up with someone in this classroom and begin your navigation on the arrangements, popular flowers, popular filler flowers, and the types of arrangement each event will require. These events will range from banquets, weddings, and even for funerals. There will also contain sections on how to balance your arrangement and how to guarantee your arrangement will be balanced in terms of overall look with colors and flower types. Lastly it is important that you understand how to cut stems, use floral wire and tape to bind the arrangements, and using the proper stand or prop to set your arrangements in or on.
Task
1. Identify the event each floral arrangement was designed for.
2. With your partner, determine the main flower and the filler flowers used in the arrangements.
3. Decide which arrangement you and your partner would like to create an arrangement for.
4. Pick ALL the flowers you are going to need and cut the stems to the appropriate length.
5. Put your arrangement on the appropriate display and create the desired chosen arrangement.
This will be presented with a short description in front of the class, do not rush this we have plenty of class time to make sure your flowers look their absolute best. If any Steps are unclear please let me know so I am able to provide clarity.
Process
The process will be as follows.
Finalize your design with your partner, cut and prepare your flowers, chose proper display type, start with your bottom layer/filler flowers, finish with the main centerpiece arrangement, add fillers if needed, once done please put arrangement in front of the classroom as if it was on display at the event it is catered for.
Evaluation
Each arrangement will be evaluated on if your arrangement is proportional, if the colors match the theme or season of the event chosen, if the colors chosen contrast well together, and classmates and a outside teacher from another class will be ranking these arrangments once everyone is done.
