Introduction
Dear all 5th grade Earth Science researchers,
Yesterday, we at the London space centre were informed that an unidentified flying object was seen flying over the mountains of Mexico! We were unsure what to think of this information, but then late last night an alien space craft landed at the center! Top scientists were scared and unsure of what the aliens wanted. Luckily, we managed to find a translator who was able to talk to the aliens and see why they have landed on our planet. They have come from the planet Gorgon which they say is located in another galaxy far away from ours. They are in desperate need of our help! The aliens say that they have used up all the resources on their planet and so need to move somewhere else to live. They have decided that they like the look of our solar system best! The problem is they are unsure what the best planet for them to move to would be. We need your help!
Your mission Junior researchers, should you choose to accept it is to find out as much as you can about the planets we have here in our solar system and then make a Storyboard That which you can then present at the international space conference we will be holding for the aliens. This is an extremely important job! It will be your work that will help the aliens decide which planet they are going to move to.
Task
You will be creating a Storyboard with the information that you find from your research. Please make sure to have visuals (images) and text on each pice of your storyboard. We want to make sure the aliens know everything there is to know about their new home.

Process
Researchers it is your job to find the right planet for the aliens to move to. Research each of the planets and create a Storyboard will all of the information that you find. First start by brainstorming what you already know about our solar system.
How many planets are there?
Can you name any of them?
Do any of the planets have any special features?
Once you are done brainstorming, research each of the planets and organize all of the information on a Storyboard. Refer to your Earth Science reference table for additional information on the planets.

Clarity and Neatness |
Storyboard is easy to read and all elements are so clearly written, labeled, or drawn that another student could create the presentation if necessary. |
Storyboard is easy to read and most elements are clearly written, labeled, or drawn. Another person might be able to create the presentation after asking one or two questions. |
Storyboard is hard to read with rough drawings and labels. It would be hard for another person to create this presentation without asking lots of questions. |
Storyboard is hard to read and one cannot tell what goes where. It would be impossible for another person to create this presentation without asking lots of questions. |
